Five Areas, One 15-Second Check-In
Step onto the TANITA BC-545N, pick up the handles and around 15 seconds later you’ve got a lot more than your weight. It looks at five areas separately - left arm, right arm, left leg, right leg and torso - showing how body fat and muscle mass differ across your body.
That detail can be useful when an overall number isn’t telling the full story. Maybe one leg has lost muscle after an old injury, or you’re working on an imbalance between your left and right side. The BC-545N shows the individual readings, alongside visceral fat, body water, bone mass, metabolic age, BMI, BMR and other whole-body measurements.
There’s no app to set up and no phone connection needed. Your results appear on the display in the handles, and the scale can recall previous measurements when you want to check how things have changed.

Five Parts of Your Body, Measured Separately
Your weight might barely move while your body composition is changing underneath. The BC-545N uses electrodes in the platform and hand grips to measure your arms, legs and torso, with separate body fat and muscle mass readings for each.
Results on the Hand-Grip Display
Once you’ve stepped on, you don’t need to reach for your phone to find out what happened. The hand-grip unit has its own display and controls, where you can see your measurements as you go. Use the RESULT button to move through the different readings, then check the individual segments when you want a closer look at your arms, legs or torso.
A Body Composition Check in Around 15 Seconds
The BC-545N gets through a lot of measurements in around 15 seconds. Take the hand grips, step onto the scale and it gathers your whole-body and segmental data. Your results include body fat, muscle mass, visceral fat, body water, bone mass and metabolic age.
Look Back Without an App
Your previous measurements are stored on the BC-545N. Use the recall function to view earlier results on the display, including measurements from one week ago and across the previous 12 months. There’s no app account or smartphone pairing needed, as everything is handled directly on the scale.
A Wider Look at Body Composition
Body fat and muscle mass might be the numbers you check first, but they’re only part of the BC-545N’s analysis. Total body water, visceral fat, bone mass, BMR, metabolic age, BMI and Physique Rating are all measured too.
Five Profiles, Athlete Mode and Room for a Guest
The BC-545N can remember five personal profiles, with age, sex and height stored for each person. If you train regularly and intensively, Athlete Mode takes your higher activity level into account when calculating your results. Guest Mode is there for one-off measurements without using one of the saved profiles. Previous readings are stored under the relevant profile, ready to look back on later.

Does the job very well
Very useful for getting back in shape through physical activity. It allows you to track your progress (muscle mass, fat mass). It also allows you to monitor your body water percentage, which is very useful for older people to potentially improve their hydration.
