The WaterRower Original Series is the wooden rowing machine that defined water resistance training. Handcrafted in New England using long-established manufacturing methods, it combines a calm, realistic rowing feel with thoughtful engineering and a timeless hardwood frame. Every Original Series model delivers the same rowing experience. The only difference is the wood you choose.
THE WATERFLYWHEEL
The patented WaterFlywheel sits at the centre of every stroke. Water resistance rises naturally as you apply more power, closely reflecting the feel of rowing on open water. Resistance is adjusted by changing the water level in the tank, keeping the stroke smooth and consistent from start to finish.
FULL-BODY ROWING
Rowing activates around 84% of the body’s muscles in one continuous movement. Legs, core, back, and arms all work together, supporting cardiovascular fitness, strength, and coordination. Training intensity is controlled entirely by your effort, from steady endurance rows to demanding intervals.
LOW-IMPACT MOVEMENT
Water resistance delivers an even load throughout the stroke. Compared to air or magnetic systems, the motion places less stress on joints and the lower back, supporting regular training without harsh impact.
COMFORT AND CONTROL
The seat runs along dual wooden rails, mirroring the layout of a rowing shell. Eight ball-bearing rollers provide steady, fluid movement. Adjustable footboards and straps support a secure rowing position.
S4 BLUETOOTH PERFORMANCE MONITOR
All Original Series rowers now come with the S4 Performance Monitor with Bluetooth connectivity as standard. Track time, distance, stroke rate, pace, watts, and heart rate when paired with a compatible chest strap. No ComModule required. App compatibility includes WaterRower Connect, CITYROW, Peloton, EXR, Kinomap, asensei, and more.
UPRIGHT STORAGE
When not in use, the rower can be stored upright, taking up about the same floor space as a chair. Transport wheels allow easy repositioning around the room. Dimensions: 209 cm length, 56 cm width, 53 cm height. Seat height: 30 cm.

Design trifft auf Funktion – ein echtes Schmuckstück im Wohnzimmer
Ich war lange auf der Suche nach einem Rudergerät, das sich optisch gut in unseren Wohnbereich einfügt – der WaterRower aus Eiche ist dafür perfekt. Aber nicht nur das Design überzeugt: Das Rudergefühl ist unglaublich angenehm und realistisch. Das Wasser als Widerstandselement macht das Training sehr dynamisch und angenehm gleichmäßig. Die Verarbeitung ist absolut hochwertig und wirkt wie für die Ewigkeit gebaut. Auch nach mehreren Wochen im Einsatz begeistert mich das Gerät täglich aufs Neue. Klare 5 Sterne!
