YOUR FIRST REFORMER

Pilates has earned its reputation for good reason. It builds core strength, improves posture and flexibility, supports recovery and keeps your body moving well, all without high-impact stress on your joints. It works the deep stabilising muscles, the ones that hold everything together, and you move freely throughout. It's also one of those practices that works at any age, any fitness level, and the results build steadily the more you do it.

The Taurus Compact is the brand's first reformer, and every detail has been considered carefully: the spring resistance, the carriage feel, the build quality. A proper entry-level machine and a great place to start your reformer practice at home.

RESISTANCE THAT GROWS WITH YOU

The reformer comes with four tension springs across two resistance levels. That spread covers controlled mobility work at the lighter end and genuine strength challenges at the heavier end. The configuration changes to match where you are in your practice, and there is plenty of room to progress.

SOLID THROUGH AND THROUGH

The main frame runs on 30 x 60 mm steel tubing, giving the whole machine a reassuring solidity. The carriage bed sits 40 mm thick, padded with PU, comfortable enough to train on daily and firm enough to keep your form on point.

FOLDS FLAT, ROLLS AWAY

Once your session is done, the reformer folds flat. Transport wheels sit underneath, handle attached. Roll it into a corner, slide it under a bed, lean it against a wall.

At 197 x 56 cm, the carriage gives you full range of motion. A great starting point on its own, and plenty of room to grow. A Pilates mat, ring or stability ball round out your practice nicely, and Fitshop stocks a wide range of accessories to go alongside.

Please note: Give yourself enough space to move freely around the reformer. The area in the direction you access it from should extend at least 0.6 m beyond the exercise area. The floor should be flat, solid and stable.

Keep it indoors, in a dry, well-heated room. It works best at ambient temperatures between 10°C and 35°C, and is not suitable for high-humidity spaces such as a room adjacent to a pool or wet room.
