It takes some time to decide to buy a piece of equipment like this, but I'm glad I bought this cable pulley station from NOHRD. The feel of the wooden body is very appealing. The machine is very easy to use. After about two weeks, I changed the gear ratio from the standard 3:1 to 2:1 by ordering a suitable cable. The conversion was very simple. The assembly instructions for the SlimBeam are very detailed and guide you step-by-step through the process. You should also watch the video tutorial; then everything goes quite smoothly. Threading the cable between the locking pin and the pulley, as shown in picture 7.10 of the instruction manual on page 27, isn't quite so easy. I tied a thin thread to the threaded part of the cable and was then able to easily guide the cable over the pulley. The same applies to threading the cable into the butterfly mechanism. But none of this took long. All parts of the SlimBeam are very well made. The SlimBeam is very quiet in operation. I would definitely recommend purchasing additional pull handles, as this increases user comfort. Overall, I am very satisfied with the SlimBeam. I now use it four times a week. Now, another important point regarding the handling of complaints: After assembling the SlimBeam, I noticed a small crack in the wooden frame, following the grain. I immediately reported this. Both Fitshop and the manufacturer, NOHRD, contacted me promptly. I provided photos of the product and the packaging. The matter was investigated (damage in transit) and resolved to my complete satisfaction in a very short time by sending me a new wooden frame. The damaged frame was picked up by a parcel service. This worked perfectly. This is how customer service should be. I can also give the customer service five stars.

Expensive design flaw!!! The "Slim Beam" is only secured to the wall at the top by two fixings. There is absolutely NO mounting option at the bottom. When using the 2:1 cable pulley with a ridiculously low maximum weight of 35 kg and performing the rowing exercise (seated on the floor), the "Slim Beam" tilted forward completely, pointing in my direction. I contacted Nohrd about this. The only response I received was that I could purchase their thin floor mat for €29.99, which would supposedly solve the problem… and this is for a cable pulley system costing €1900!! When using the 1:1 cable pulley with a maximum weight of 70 kg, the lower part of the "Slim Beam" certainly wouldn't stay in place even with the aforementioned thin mat between the floor and the unit. At this price point, I expect the cable pulley system to be stable and secure under all weight loads! It would actually be quite easy to solve: simply attach two wall mounting brackets (similar to the two on top) to the lower metal base plate, use these brackets, and attach the two screws/anchors to the wall – done! In our opinion, the cable pulley is not suitable for lower body strength training, and I would have serious concerns, especially with the 1:1 cable pulley (70 kg maximum weight). Aside from this shortcoming, we are otherwise very satisfied with the "Slim Beam" cable pulley. Excellent workmanship, very good and varied training options for the entire upper body musculature. Superb for muscle building. The design is very appealing – modern (we chose the white version). The dimensions are perfect – they take up very little space. Intended use: Muscle building in old age, after injuries/surgery, when only limited space is available.

I am very satisfied - everything to my satisfaction

Das Slimbeam ist ein sehr schönes Gerät für das Fitnesstraining zu Hause. Das Desing ist wirklich gelungen. Die Funktionalität ist aber leider dem Design z.T. untergeordnet. Deshalb gibt es einen Stern abzug.

Der Aufbau des Slim Beam funktioniert relativ simpel. Allerdings ist in der Beschreibung das einfädeln des Zugseils in den untern Rollen schlecht dargestellt -wurde inzwischen durch eine Zusatzinfo ergänzt. Der Turm ist insgesamt ein hochwertiges, solides Trainingsgerät bis auf die beiden Befestigungen für Klimmzugstange und Butterfley, diese verrutschen und drehen sich -auch bei stark angezogenen Schrauben. Bei der 1:1 Übersetzung mit höheren Gewichten ist die Stabilisierung der Halterungen -je nach Seilwinkel- nur bedingt möglich. Hier sollten sich die Konstrukteure nach einer besseren Lösung suchen.

Der Aufau war zu zweit gut zu bewältigen, beim Transport braucht es unbedingt Hilfe für die langen Teile. Der ovale Korpus besteht aus MDF / Birkensperrholz und ist in meinem Fall mit Eichenfurnier furniert. Das Oval der Boden- und Deckplatte ist leider nicht überall am Korpus wiederzufinden, heißt - mal steht der Korpus über die Platten hinaus, mal liegt er weiter innen. Wer einen Turm ohne Elektronik möchte findet rechts am Korpus eine unschöne Kunststoffabdeckung. Die Klimmzugstange, der Butterfley und der Seilspanner drehen sich selbst bei angeknallten Schrauben auf der runden Stange. Das ist besonders unschön und gefährlich, wenn man sich an der Klimmzugstange bei einigen Übungen abstützen muss. Auch hat die Stange keine Raster (Bohrungen) und man muss sich den besten Trainingswinkel jeweils wieder neu suchen. Die Halterungsrohre für Butterfly, Klimmzugstange und Seilspanner sind im Durchmesser deutlich zu Groß, so dass unschöne Lücken zwischen Halterohr und Stange zu sehen sind. Der Lauf ist geräuscharm, lediglich beim Absetzen des Gewichtsblocks sollte man vorsichtig sein, wenn man unter sich Nachbarn hat. Hier böte sich eine Pufferung an. Die Anschlagdämpfer am oberen Ende sind nichts anderes als schief zurechtgeschnittener Kunststoffschlauch. Um den über die Stangen zu bekommen....., ich habe ihn aufgeschnitten und wieder mit Kabelbindern über den Stangen zusammengebunden. Mit der Seilführung 1:1 hat man ausreichend Spielraum wobei man bedenken sollte, das Gewichtssteigerung imer nur in 2,5/5 KG-Schritten möglich sind. Alles in allem hätte ich für diesen Preis mehr erwartet.
