Blueberry Smoothie Recipe – Fit and Delicious!

Smoothies are really irreplaceable.. The only recipe I can think of that you can make in 2 minutes, is incredibly rich in nutrients and can be mixed with your daily supplements. There’s a wide range of various smoothie recipes and there’s no wrong ingredients as everyone will find their own favourite fruit combinations.

In this post you’ll find a recipe for a blueberry-banana smoothie, which is one of my favourites. Blueberries have one of the highest anti-oxidants content among all common fruits and vegs, while the banana adds natural sweetness and a creamy consistency.

Blueberry Smoothie Recipe-Fit and Delicious

My love for smoothies started in the time of my life where I had around 3 minutes in the morning to make my breakfast or I’d have to spend the morning starving. Smoothies are the quickest form of breakfast you’ll find and as a side bonus they’re delicious and full of nutrients.

Although this recipe is for a blueberry-banana smoothie, you can literally put any fruits in there and it’ll do the job. A hack I found very useful is to freeze one-smoothie portions of fruits for the whole week. Then, each morning when you wake up, you throw the pack of frozen fruits into your blender, add some milk or water and you’re done.

The second reason for drinking smoothies is that they’re a great carrier of your powdered supplements. Whether it’s protein powder, collagen, l-carnitine, creatine, powdered vitamins or any other powdered supplements, you can put them in your morning smoothie. Most supplements are unflavoured so it doesn’t change the way the smoothie tastes, but it’s a seamless way of getting your supplements in each morning.

It’s also great for people who tend to forget about their supplements, like me. Sometimes I can forget to take the supplement pills, but I never forgot about breakfast…

Bananas are very healthy and delicious at the same time. They also contribute to the creamy and soft consistency of the smoothie. They contain a high amount of fiber that’s essential for healthy digestion and gut health. Bananas are also rich in potassium which is important for heart health – including blood pressure control.

Blueberries are low in calories but very high in nutrients. They are also mentioned on the lists of top superfoods thanks to being super filled with antioxidants that reduce cell damage. Blueberries are believed to have one of the highest antioxidant levels of all common fruits and vegetables.

Coconut milk is much lower in calories compared to cow’s milk which makes it a perfect option if you’re looking to cut calories or lose weight. It also makes the recipe perfect for anyone who’s lactose intolerant or vegan. In addition, it contains Zinc, which helps maintain healthy gut.

Cinnamon contains an essential compound – Cinnamaldehyde – which has powerful anti-inflammatory properties. It’s also an effective anti-oxidant that helps prevent cell damage and chronic diseases. It’s been proven to fight bacterias, viruses and fungus occurring in foods. It’s prebiotics are also linked to improved gut health.
